Organizations in the U.S. are turning to the AWS ecosystem for help in progressing toward integrated, well-governed operating models for cloud operations, AI and data, according to a new research report published today by Information Services Group (ISG) (Nasdaq: III), a global AI-centered technology research and advisory firm.
The 2026 ISG Provider Lens® AWS Ecosystem Partners report for the U.S. finds that AWS adoption has entered a new stage of maturity in which cloud migration is no longer the central objective. Organizations are updating applications, operationalizing AI and building trusted data foundations throughout AWS environments, seeking scalable operating models and measurable business outcomes with controlled costs.
“Enterprises in the U.S. are treating AWS implementation as a shared operating challenge,” said Anay Nawathe, ISG cloud delivery lead for the Americas. “To achieve sustained results, they know they will need disciplined execution across AWS technology, operations and finance.”
Companies are using AWS services to build agentic AI systems that reason, coordinate workflows and execute defined business processes. Their priorities include customer interactions, software engineering and operational decision-making across increasingly complex operating environments. AWS services for agent development, orchestration and deployment support production-oriented systems with defined controls and operational accountability. By taking a production engineering approach, providers help shorten AWS deployment time while limiting implementation complexity, delivery risk and demands on scarce AI talent.
Many organizations in the U.S. are updating data foundations in AWS before extending AI initiatives across their operations. They are adopting AWS-based lakehouse environments, data fabrics, semantic models and metadata management to unify fragmented information. Lineage tracking, data-quality controls and real-time processing capabilities improve reliability for analytics, automation and AI at scale. In highly regulated financial services, healthcare, life sciences and public sector organizations, these AWS investments also support essential protections in areas such as auditability, data protection and digital sovereignty.
Enterprises are unifying management of AWS cloud costs and AI spending as AI use becomes more continuous. To guide AWS scaling decisions, they are monitoring GPU utilization, model execution, inference activity and token consumption. Changes to VMware licensing are prompting large estates to reconsider data-center strategies and placement of core workloads. Many U.S. enterprises are consolidating these workloads onto AWS and other hyperscaler stacks through native migration paths, avoiding immediate re-architecture projects, ISG says.
“The next test for U.S. organizations will be connecting AWS and AI spending to operating results,” said Tapati Bandopadhyay, lead author of the report. “AWS ecosystem providers can help clients modernize data and applications while making cloud and AI costs more transparent.”
The report also explores other trends in the U.S. AWS ecosystem, including growing enterprise use of AWS-enabled autonomous cloud operations and increasing demand for providers to support industry-specific transformation approaches.
